Eloise is a passionate and versatile musician, who a is busy freelancer, playing with many leading orchestras including notably, touring with the Welsh National Opera in their new opera Rhondda Rips it Up, playing double bass and bass guitar, Opera North, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and London Symphony Orchestra on their String Scheme, the Belmont Ensemble, The Little Orchestra, Outcry Ensemble and Orpheus Sinfonia amongst others. As a pioneer of new music and chamber works, she has commissioned and premiered numerous solo and chamber music works for the double bass and has recorded music for feature films, animation, popular music artists and contemporary organisations such as Nonclassical. Eloise is currently Principal Double Bass of the Street Orchestra of London, who’s motto is ‘Music for All’.
Eloise studied at the Royal Academy of Music where she obtained an MA, BMus (Hons) and LRAM teaching diploma (with distinction).
As well as her busy playing career, Eloise is passionate about outreach and teaching. She currently teaches Double Bass at Junior Guildhall and teaches in several leading independent schools including Kensington Prep School and Putney High School as well as tutoring on London music courses and teaching a number of private pupils of all ages from beginners through to experienced players and has also taught at the the City of London School for Girls. She has also worked with the outreach departments of Academy of St Martin’s in the Fields, Spitalfields Music, English National Opera and English Chamber Orchestra and has worked for Creative Futures as a workshop leader.
