Teacher

A prominent figure in the teaching world, I currently teach Double Bass on the Junior Guildhall Music Course and String Training Programme and in leading independent schools such as North London Collegiate School, Kensington Preparatory School and have also taught at the City of London School for Girls, Putney High and Fulham Preparatory School. I also tutor on the South London Youth Orchestra courses three times a year and have tutored the Double Bass section of the Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra.

I have an extensive private studio of pupils of all ages ranging from beginners to advanced and both adults and children and many of my pupils successfully audition for orchestras such as National Youth Orchestra, National Children’s Orchestra and National Youth String Orchestra as well as gaining university scholarships and places to prestigious music conservatoires such as Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity College of Music, Royal Northern College and more.

Having been introduced to outreach during my studies at the Royal Academy of Music, I obtained the LRAM with distinction and became an Open Academy Fellow from 2014-2015. I have been a workshop leader for adults and children including Creative Futures, delivering music classes in drop-in centres, nurseries and in a school for hearing-impaired children. I have also worked for the Croydon Alzheimer’s Society and Sunrise Purley Care Home, co-leading music workshops for adults living with Dementia. I previously worked with the outreach departments of Academy of St Martin’s in the Fields, Spitalfields Music, English National Opera and English Chamber Orchestra.

I am currently the Director of London Basses.
